There are multiple options for trying to incorporate the wood look into your home.
  1. Contact paper
  2. Wood veneer
  3. Liquid wood

Let’s walk through these different options!

Faux Wood Contact Paper

One of the easiest options is contact paper. It’s a quick fix and probably the easiest and cheapest of the three options.

Contact paper is an ideal material to use when it comes to creative projects or making small alterations to furniture and other items around the home. It comes in a range of colors and styles, from classic, glossy finishes to modern, rustic designs. Specifically, it can be used to renew old furniture, spruce up a kitchen backsplash, or create an artistic wall feature. No matter what your goal or skill level is, contact paper can help you really elevate your space in a quick and affordable way!

It can be as small as putting it on a shelf to make a shelf look like wood. For example, I used wood contact paper to upgrade my laundry room!

Faux Wood Veneer

Another option is to apply wood veneer. It is more expensive than contact paper. However, it will provide a more durable finish and it will look the most realistic out of the options.

Wood veneer is a thin layer of wood typically applied over a substrate, such as particleboard or plywood. This layer of wood enhances both the look and feel of the finished product while providing a protective layer against dust and moisture. The use of wood veneer is a cost-effective way to create beautiful, high-end furniture pieces without breaking the bank. There are a variety of different wood veneer species available, as well as multiple finishes and textures, making it easy to find the perfect combination to match any interior design style. By using wood veneer, you can create unique pieces of furniture that will stand out from the crowd and make a lasting impression on any room.

Liquid Wood

The last option is liquid wood. It’s a paint that has wood particles in it so that you can still stain it. You paint it on and can create a wood grain effect with it.

Liquid wood products are aesthetically pleasing and customizable, making it a perfect choice for furniture and architectural design.
